We are entering a ‘family’ team in the Cayman Marathon. Our friends Joanne and Bob Oostveen, Dartmouth, NS (Cda) will be visiting, and Joanne has already registered for the half-marathon! Bob , two of the boys, and myself will make up a relay team. Each of us will run 6.5 miles.
Since I homeschool, I have incorporated training into our ‘school’ schedule. We have been running early in the morning, doing the South Sound Loop – from Denham Thompson to Walkers Rd to South Church and back…. 2 miles. Hopefully this week we can add on another mile. The boys are much faster than I (of course) and I have the two ‘youngers’ with me 3 days/5 , so I’m a little nervous about getting up to task by December 5th! The youngers aren’t worried, as they will only be running 1/2 mile in the ‘Kids Race’!
The marathon will run from downtown George Town to Prospect and back (twice) along South Sound.
I’m using RunKeeper to keep track of our progress. I guess we have a bit more work to do…!
